What are the opening hours of the hotel and reception?

The Hotel Marielle is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our reception team handles calls and emails between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. (French time), and an on-call service is available outside these hours for emergencies.

Is the hotel open all year round or only during the winter season?

The Hotel Marielle is open only during the winter season. Each year, we adjust our opening date depending on snow conditions and the resort’s opening dates, to ensure that you enjoy a high-quality stay.

What payment methods are accepted?

You can pay by Visa, AMEX, Eurocard or Mastercard, in cash or with holiday vouchers.

What languages are spoken at reception?

Our staff can assist you in French, English and Spanish.

Does the hotel offer Wi-Fi for internet access?

The Hotel Marielle offers free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, including in the communal areas and guest rooms. Wi-Fi is also available on the outdoor terrace, near the M Restaurant.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not permitted in the rooms or communal areas of the hotel, but assistance/support animals are allowed.

Is smoking or vaping permitted in the hotel?

Smoking is strictly prohibited on the premises of the Hotel Marielle. This ban applies to all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, balconies and windows.
A penalty of €150 will be incurred for smoking.

Is the hotel suitable for guests with reduced mobility?

Yes, the entire hotel is accessible via two lifts, making it easy to access the various floors, particularly for wheelchair users. The hotel also has three rooms with bathrooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

Where exactly is the Hotel Marielle located?

The Hotel Marielle enjoys an ideal location in the heart of the Val Thorens resort, just a few minutes from car parks P1 and P2, the coach station, Le Board (the resort’s sports and wellness centre) and the tourist office. Situated on the snow front, the hotel offers one of the best locations for hassle-free access to the ski area.

How do I get to the hotel by car?

The Hôtel Marielle is located right in the centre of the Val Thorens resort.

Where can I park my car?

Val Thorens is a semi-pedestrianised resort and only drop-off is permitted. On arrival, you can drop off luggage and passengers in front of the hotel, then proceed to your car park.
Several car parks are available, including car park P2, which is the closest to the hotel. To book your parking space, please do so online at https://www.valthoparc.fr/ at least 7 days before your arrival. If you do not have a booking, you can go to the car park reception, but there is no guarantee that you will find a space.
Car parks P0, P1 and P2 are located in the heart of the ski resort and offer several spaces with charging points for electric vehicles, while car parks P3 and P4 are located outside the resort and provide access to the centre via free shuttle buses.

Does the hotel offer a transfer service?

Absolutely ! We can arrange a private transfers for you to and from the region’s airports and train stations, through our selection of reliable and efficient service providers.

How do I get to the hotel by public transport?

Access by bus:
There are numerous bus services to Val Thorens from Moûtiers, Grenoble, Chambéry, Lyon and Geneva. A new route has recently been introduced linking the resort to Amsterdam, via Brussels, Lille, Paris and Lyon. You can find all the information about these various bus routes on the Val Thorens website.


Access by train:
Val Thorens resort is not directly accessible by train; the nearest railway station is Moûtiers - Salins - Brides-les-Bains, located 37 km from Val Thorens, and regular buses run to Val Thorens.

We can also arrange private transfers to the hotel from the stations in Moûtiers, Lyon, Chambéry and Albertville.

Does Val Thorens offer a shuttle service?

Val Thorens operates numerous shuttles during the winter season, allowing you to get around the resort with ease. There is also a free shuttle service running throughout the day and taking you to neighbouring resorts* in the Belleville ski area.

What time is check-in?

All our rooms are available from 4 p.m.

If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage in our luggage room and make use of the slopes or the hotel’s facilities as soon as you receive your key, including the bar, spa and restaurant. We also provide complimentary water, tea, coffee and Wi-Fi, as well as a shower room.

Is it possible to arrive late at night?

Yes, there is always someone at reception to welcome you, even late at night, so you can arrive whenever you like.

What time is check-out?

Check-out must be completed by 11 a.m. for all hotel rooms.

Can I leave early in the morning?

Yes, you can leave early in the morning. We advise making arrangements with reception in advance to ensure a smooth departure.

Can we request an early check-in or late check-out?

Depending on availability, this may be possible. Please contact reception in advance if you wish to arrive earlier. However, to be certain of having the room before 4 p.m., we recommend booking the previous night.

If you would like to keep your room after 11 a.m., please contact reception the day before you leave, or book the room for an extra night.

Can I leave my luggage at the hotel after I’ve checked out?

Yes, you can store your luggage in our luggage storage area after you’ve checked out and enjoy your last day in Val Thorens without any hassle.

Is it possible to have a shower after checking out?

Absolutely. We have a bathroom available so that you can enjoy the ski area on your last day and shower when you come to collect your luggage.

Are there any connecting rooms?

Yes, the Hotel Marielle offers several options for connecting rooms.

We have three standard rooms suitable for four guests and six superior rooms ideal for groups of five people.

Are the rooms cleaned during your stay?

Yes, the rooms are cleaned daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.  If you would prefer a specific time, please contact us at reception and we will be happy to help organise your stay!

What facilities are available in the rooms?

All rooms at the Hotel Marielle feature Wi-Fi, a safe with a secret code, an HD television with satellite channels and a free on-demand film service. Rooms also have a desk area, a kettle with tea and a coffee machine, to help ensure a comfortable stay.

You can choose your own personal code for the safe by following the instructions on the safe door, allowing you to securely store your valuables when you leave your room.
In the bathroom, you will find bathrobes and slippers, a hairdryer, and NUXE toiletries, including soap, shampoo, and shower gel. All our bathrooms are equipped with either a bath or shower.

Is the Hotel Marielle suitable for family holidays?

Situated at the foot of the ski slopes and opposite the ESF chalet, the Hotel Marielle is one of the most popular places for a family holiday in Val Thorens. It is also highly rated for its facilities, dining options, friendly atmosphere and convenient location.

Which room is best for a family holiday?

Our hotel offers several rooms that are ideal for families. Whether you choose the Standard Room (2 adults + 2 kids) or the Family Room, you’ll enjoy a fully equipped room with plenty of storage space. Need more space? Our superior family rooms are even more spacious and feature a bath, providing the perfect place to relax and enjoy top-of-the-range comfort.

Do you have cots available?

Yes, travel cots for children up to the age of three are available on request at the hotel reception.

Do all rooms offer a view of the slopes?

No, not all of our rooms overlook the ski area, depending on their location within the hotel. If you would like a room with a view of the slopes, please let us know when you book and we will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.

What facilities does the hotel offer ?

During your stay at the Hôtel Marielle, you can enjoy a wide range of facilities and services, including a wellness area with a sauna, steam room and massage room (booking a treatment is required), a ski room with private lockers and a children’s play area. There is also a bar, a snack bar and a restaurant.

We also offer a versatile meeting room for business stays.

Does the hotel have a luggage storage facility ?

Luggage storage is available free of charge before you check in or after you check out, so you can enjoy your first (or last) day in Val Thorens without any hassle.

Does the hotel offer a laundry service?

Yes, the Hôtel Marielle offers a laundry service, including washing and drying clothes. We do not offer an ironing service.

Does the Hôtel Marielle have a gym ?

Unfortunately, no. However, we recommend Le Board, which has a fully equipped gym just a few hundred metres away.

Are there any supermarkets or grocery shops near the hotel?

There are several supermarkets in the centre of Val Thorens. The closest one to the hotel is Carrefour Montagne, which is located near P1 and is about a 10-minute walk away.

There is also a Spar mini-market just a two-minute walk away on Rue du Soleil.

Is the hotel far from the Val Thorens Tourist Office?

It is just a 7-minute walk away.

Where is Le Board de Val Thorens in relation to the hotel?

The Le Board wellness centre is on Place des Arolles, about a five-minute walk from the hotel. You can reach the square by walking up Rue du Soleil, or by taking the lifts and then crossing the footbridge, which leads directly to the square. To use the lifts, exit the hotel onto Rue du Soleil and turn left. The lift entrance is just past the Le Silveralp residence, and there is a sign marking the entrance.

Are there any restaurants and bars nearby?

As well as the bar de l'Hotel Marielle and the M Restaurant, there are numerous other restaurants and bars in the area. Please feel free to ask our staff for recommendations — they will be happy to share their favourite spots in Val Thorens with you!

Are there any clubs near the hotel?

Yes, the Le Malaysia Club on Rue de Caron is the closest, a 7-minute walk away. The Le Summit Club is located in the upper part of Val Thorens on Rue de Gebroulaz, which is a 15-minute walk away.

What activities are there nearby for children?

For ski lessons, the ESF offices are in the same building as the Tourist Office and the meeting point is right opposite the hotel on the slopes.

Le Board, just a five-minute walk away on Place des Arolles, is the perfect place for children's activities, with a water park, an indoor multi-sports area, a gym and fitness area, and a fun park. We also recommend the Val Thorens bowling alley, which is seven minutes from the Hotel Marielle and close to the Tourist Office, as well as the ice rink on Place Péclet, which is 12 minutes from the hotel.

Film lovers can head to the Le Lac Blanc cinema on the Grande Rue, a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Can I buy ski passes from the hotel?

You can buy ski passes from the hotel reception*.
We offer passes for both the Domaine des 3 Vallées and the Domaine de Val Thorens - Orelle.

Can I hire or buy ski equipment at the hotel?

The Marielle Hotel and Skishop by Skiset offer equipment hire at the hotel entrance, with a team of professionals on hand to advise you and prepare your equipment.

A wide range of equipment suitable for all levels is available to hire or buy.

What services does the ski shop offer?

The Skiset ski shop offers high-quality services and guarantees top-performing equipment for hitting the slopes.

Repair, boot fitting, edge sharpening and waxing services are also available to help you keep your equipment in good condition.

Can I store my ski gear at the hotel?

To ensure a hassle-free skiing holiday, the hotel has a ski room with numerous private lockers, which are included in your booking and allow you to store your equipment after a day on the slopes.

How do I get to the ski areas?

The Marielle Hotel is ideally located right on the slopes!

You can access the 3 Vallées or Val Thorens–Orelle ski areas directly on your skis as soon as you step out of the ski room.

Are the ski lifts easily accessible from the hotel?

Thanks to the hotel's location on the snow front, several ski lifts are close by, including the Pionniers chairlift, which takes you to the north face of the Val Thorens resort, and the Péclet funitel, which whisks you up to the Péclet glacier in just eight minutes. Both facilities are less than two minutes from the hotel.

To reach the Cima Caron gondola, first take the 2 Lacs gondola (a 2-minute ski from the hotel), then take the Lagopède run (3 minutes) to reach the lift.

Can we book ski lessons from the hotel?

Yes, we are partners with the ESF (Ecole du Ski Français) and Oxygène, and you can book lessons with them directly from the hotel. Our reception team will be happy to help if needed. Alternatively, you can book your lessons online with the ESF and Oxygène.

Is breakfast included in the price of the stay?

All of our packages include breakfast. You can also opt for a half-board package and enjoy an evening buffet at no extra cost.

What are the breakfast times?

Every morning, you can enjoy a generous breakfast featuring sweet and savoury items, fruit and drinks, served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Please note that room service is not available at the Hotel Marielle.

What are the restaurant’s lunch opening hours?

Le M Restaurant is open from 12 noon to 2.30 p.m. and offers a bistronomic menu featuring local, seasonal produce, allowing you to discover or rediscover Alpine flavours.

There is a wide selection of dishes to enjoy in an idyllic setting on the terrace overlooking the slopes.

What are the restaurant’s evening opening hours?

The restaurant is open from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and offers a buffet featuring a variety of dishes.

If you are a half-board guest, simply go to the counter at the entrance to the dining room to access the buffet. Guests with breakfast only included can visit the hotel reception to book the buffet, priced at €48 per person.

Non-residents are also welcome to enjoy the buffet at the same price, subject to availability and advance reservation.

Do you offer vegetarian or gluten-free options?

Yes, our restaurant menu has been designed to offer several vegetarian and gluten-free options so everyone can enjoy our cuisine.

What solutions do you offer for food intolerances or special diets?

Our breakfast and dinner buffets offer a wide variety of dishes, including several suitable for guests with intolerances (gluten, eggs, etc.) or specific diets. Clear labeling is also available on the menus of the M Restaurant, M Gourmet Snack, La Cabane, and the bar (tapas section).

What are the opening hours of the M Gourmet Snack?

The M Gourmet Snack offers cheeseburgers, truffle croque-monsieur, hot dogs with fries, poke bowls, and many other treats from 12 noon to 3 p.m. After 3 p.m., the snack only serves waffles and crêpes.

What are the bar opening hours?

Our bar is open every day from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and offers a wide selection of cocktails, drinks, and tapas (during kitchen opening hours). You can find the bar menu here.

Can non-hotel guests come for a drink at the bar?

Yes, of course! The bar de l'Hotel Marielle is also open to non-residents. You are welcome to enjoy a drink in a friendly atmosphere with friends, family, or as a couple.

Does the hotel have a spa and wellness area?

Yes, Hôtel Marielle features a NUXE Spa and a wellness area, located on level 0 and accessible to hotel guests.

What are the wellness area opening hours?

The wellness area is accessible to all hotel guests from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What facilities are available (sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, etc.)?

The wellness area includes 3 treatment rooms, a relaxing hammam, and a sauna covering 60 m².
When booking a treatment, you also gain access to the herbal tea room, a relaxation area with comfortable loungers, where you can enjoy infusions, herbal teas, and dried fruits.

Is spa access included in the stay?

Yes, access to the spa is included in the room price and allows use of the sauna and hammam. Treatments are not included and are charged separately.

We offer a massage menu and a beauty treatment menu (manicure, pedicure, waxing services).

I am not a hotel guest, how can I access the wellness area?

To access the wellness area, simply book a treatment of at least 45 minutes. In addition to your treatment, you benefit from one free hour to enjoy the sauna, hammam, and herbal tea room.

Do I need to book to access the spa?

No reservation is required to access the sauna and hammam; simply come appropriately dressed. You can also enjoy a relaxation area near the sauna. For hygiene reasons, wearing swimwear is recommended.

For treatments, booking in advance is essential. A treatment booking also grants access to the herbal tea area.

Is the wellness area accessible to children?

Yes, the wellness area is accessible to children. However, access to the spa and hammam is prohibited for guests under 16 unless accompanied by an adult. The spa is a space dedicated to relaxation, and guests are expected to respect its calm atmosphere.

Are there any additional fees?

Yes, a tourist tax is payable at the hotel upon check-out. For the winter season 2025–2026, it is €2.86 per adult per night.

Does the hotel accept holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances)?

Yes, we accept holiday vouchers, but only on-site. They cannot be used to pay the deposit.

What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?

We generally offer free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival (before 2 p.m.). Please check the specific cancellation conditions at the time of booking, as they are also detailed in your confirmation email.

In case of late cancellation or modification, the full stay amount will be charged and is non-refundable. In case of no-show or early departure, the total stay will also be charged.

Some rates may be non-cancellable and non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation date.
