Marielle Goitschel and Chloé Trespeuch: Two Legends of Skiing and Snowboardcross
The Hotel Marielle, located in the heart of the Val Thorens resort, is proud to be a partner with Chloé Trespeuch, a young prodigy of French snowboard cross. This choice is part of the hotel's desire to pay tribute to Marielle Goitschel, legendary French skier and a source of inspiration for generations of athletes.
Marielle Goitschel, a French skiing icon

A Figure from Val Thorens
This French skier born in 1945 marked the history of skiing. First of all, through his strong personality, his track record and... his contribution to the development of Val Thorens. In just 6 years, Marielle Goitschel won two Olympic gold medals and seven world championship titles. Precocious, she joined the French team at only 14 years old and won the combined world championship title at 16, at the world championships in Chamonix. At 23, Marielle Goitschel put an end to her career after the Olympic Games in Grenoble in 1968, with a final Olympic title in slalom.
In 1972, Marielle Goitschel arrived in Val Thorens, just out of the ground. Jean Béranger, who was his coach, set up the Tourist Office, the French Ski School and the Sports Club. She is one of those pioneers who gave her soul to the station. Celebrated by her fame on the slopes, Marielle Goitschel is a legend: it was to her that we owe the Académie des Neiges, open to children and families, in the 70s. While pleasure can be learned, it can also be shared.
The Hotel Marielle, a history of transmission
It is in this state of mind that the rest of the story of Marielle takes place. The state of mind of the pioneers of Val Thorens is there, intact, and the big house imagined by Marielle Goitschel remains “in the family.” A family at heart, since the former champion has chosen to put its future in the hands of two investors in love with Val Thorens, Gilles Ridel and Jean-Michel Bénard, who also own the Le Chamois d'Or residence. Their meeting dates back to the early 1980s, and their friendship is part of a shared commitment to the station and shared values. When, two years ago, Marielle Goitschel decided to pass on the baton, it was quite natural that she chose to sell the house to her entrepreneurial friends.
This modern hotel project with high-end services is based on conviviality, transmission and a contemporary vision of mountain hotels, led by the young Assas Hotels group, in charge of managing the establishment and its renovation. The management of the hotel is entrusted to Grégoire Le Solleuz, a young man full of talent, ideas and energy who has just arrived from Courchevel where he successfully cut his teeth for a large hotel of the same standing.
It is the architect Leslie Gauthier, to whom we owe the signature and atmosphere of the group's hotels, who immersed himself in the atmosphere of the house to open a new chapter in its history.
Comfortable, refined, modern, expanded, the Hotel Marielle has kept its soul.
